Not feeling this show like a lot apparently did a couple of years ago; this one to date is the best-reviewed show of 2013 from Furthur, but I hope there are better offerings out there. You can't go wrong with 40 minutes of Dark Star > Terrapin, and all that Cumberland/Casey stuff is quite enjoyable. But the rest of the show is really quite slack and meandering. We've heard this band in far better shape; if this show is representative of where the band was heading, it's no wonder they disbanded around this time.

This show was incredible. I don't know but for me it has never just been the music, its not why I go. I love that it is for some, I love that taping is some peoples thing, and this is a bad ass tape btw, nice job. For me its the scene, the friends, the beautiful women, I actually stayed sober for this one, but I do like to partake at times as well. We rolled into town after coming from camp bisco. We were going to park in some guys drive way for 20 bucks but instead this excellent fellow gave us directions to a free parking lot with free shuttle back and forth from the show!...it gets better...So we find the parking lot, almost empty, we get a nice spot by some grass, we meet some other heads who tell us a train is about to arrive with a bar and a dead cover band for a 3 hour tour for 20$...We cant believe it, it turns out to be true. The Deadbeats from albany i think, and if you guys are out there THANK YOU! So we get good and toasty to an insanely great show, I mean, top notch, as good as any, on a train, smoking it up, drinking, the whole train was dancing, beautiful ladies, all kind heads, so good! We went through the woods, we went past young kids all practicing baseball at a huge stadium place, not sure where that was, but the band played take me out to the ball game, the whole train sang at the top of there lungs, the kids all waved and cheered, it was a truly magical moment for me, life, who knew. So the train ends and the lot is now full, we party it up, cousins and friends show up. The after party turns out to be Furthur...Such a good show, baseball field, rain, fun fun songs. A dark star that was really advanced great stuff, and that is saying something, these guys have taken dark star to many places, this was new, like childish spirits meeting instruments for the first time and obviously being skilled, just trippy and new and fresh all in a sick venue. I got two songs ive been stuck on for a few years now, Foolish and SOTM. We were shuttled back to the lot and allowed to party and sleep without any threat from authorities, such love, such peace, such fun, time machine back to 1968. Off the hook! Surreal. Great lot scene, Shakedown at its modern finest. Woke up, heads everywhere, sleeping bags, puppies, some garbage, not alot, not alot of ballons, had a nice breakfast in a tiny hole in the wall, went down to the lake and meet more heads, puff puff pass. Then met more friends camped at the KOA and we headed off to Omegang or however its spelled, the brewery. Where yet more beautiful friendly women feed us beers all afternoon. A good meal, some hugs, and off to Toronto to see death grips and bjork, and flaming lips! Weeee thanks for the recording, ill never forget this run. The best show is the show your at is right. This could very well have been my very last Furthur show. The Music Never Stops! Peace and love ya'll.

thanks a million for sharing!
I see ya got the tracks labeled ;)
Screw the complainer(s)
Since when do we need setlist?
Did the thousands in attendance have one? No! They listened and enjoyed the ride!

Don't get down. We appreciate it, and I myself can do without the labeling. Let me be surprised. Peace and thanks

Subject: Dead Freak
As a taper myself, it's people like you that make me not want to share my recordings beyond my close circle of friends. Then I remember that it helps other get exposed to the music and people who can't make it across the country listen have the chance to hear it.

You should be more grateful, or just keep it to yourself. If you think relabeling the tracks is a lot of work try carrying in 50 lbs of gear, monitoring levels, then spending hours editing, splitting the tracks, and formatting for archive and bt.etree etc.

It's a labor of love and makes your complaint rather pathetic.

Subject: Nice recording of a so-so show
I generally don't review shows. Dead_Freak inspired me.
98% of us are very grateful that tapers like Chris take the time and effort to record these shows for us. Dead_Freak is a member of the 2% that don't seem to get it. That is unfortunate and hopefully Chris, et al, understand that those like Dead_Freak are in the minority and are not discouraged by such criticism.
As for the recording (since I'm here), its very well done and its quality is why I gave this 4 stars. If I was to judge based purely on the quality of the performance, it would be more like a 2.5 - 3. Pride through Cumberland was pretty solid. The rest of it was rough. God bless Phil for trying to make it all work.

Greatjob chris The quality I would expect from a fellow upstate tape. i was not there but the only thing i would say is lower your stand way too much hi end still give you 5 stars but there could be more bass and mid range. You can tell I know. you have owned practially every pair of mics i have I do give advantage 1 to BG for that It also might be that odae design too but anyway grate job see ya soon. Deadfreek your just lazy!

To Chris and all tapers--1000 thank you's still isn't enough. You give us all the chance to enjoy music, especially when I don't have the chance to make it out to as many shows anymore. Great recording, and JK is no JG, but he never claimed to be--although his guitar work sounds like JG's at times, he still brings his own unique voice and phrasing to the table. Thank you again, Chris, and to all tapers for taking the time to document and share this history with us!

ps if you don't know the tracks by listening to them, you're on the wrong site

Subject: Great Recording!
Thanks Chris! This is fantastic! Also, because I'm somewhat intelligent, I am able to decipher which songs go which song titles. I can't believe someone complained about that. A "Dead Freak" that can't listen to the music and figure out for himself what songs are being played? WOw...some people. Totally ungrateful....

Subject: Great Show/Recording
Many thanks to Chris for recording this show and getting it posted here. The worst thing, far worse than no labeling, would be no recording or no show. So, we ought to recognize and appreciate this fine work! It is odd to me that a show this good that is wonderfully recorded and posted (plays) here for free would produce negative comments and (on the whole) mediocre ratings. The whole band is great here, of course, but Bob really shines. I especially like Big River, Bertha, and Gloria. JK sings Bertha, but the Bob "tone" is great in my view. Much here to enjoy. Just skip the labels and play it through!

couple things: 1) kudos to the tapers. Too bad this taper couldn't take the time to label his tracks. Creating more work for me turns me off. the recording is good but too much work. The other copy here is just as good with labeled tracks. So recording gets a 4 star but 1 star for work required.
2) Band sounds good and sounds like they were having fun. Just remember NO ONE can replace Jerry so keep an open mind going in with expectations low. JK is an excellent fit and comes as close as you might get to "Jerrystyle" playing.

swine is correct, this was a jewel. set 2 was very intense with a crescent moon rising above the stage. the only performance of casey at the bat? buy the ticket, take the trip Waxman. this ones a 5...

Subject: I thought Bobs vigor raised the show not lowered!
I really enjoyed this show, more so than most others, Maybe I was just up for it. I thought the excitement of being in such a unique venue (especially for baseball/Dead fans) was brought through in the performance. Seeing Bob have that excitement was worth a few stepped on notes. I'm sure JK didn't mind getting a breather for one night. Anyways I've seen many and thought this one was a Jewel!

Subject: Great 2nd set
First set was decent but not much to write home about. But after the intermission...wow! They must have been saving their energy, because the rest of the show was killer. The beautifully spaced out Dark Star into Terrapin was worth the trip, and the rest of the set is strong as well.

Subject: awesome time at cooperstown!
i got into the event a little late. cooperstown has no event parking lot and we had to find street parking. cool venue with chill atmosphere, general admission tix for everyone.

highlights for me from the first set were: foolish heart and casey jones

the second set was great, really enjoyed terrapin and gloria

killer encore w samson and delilah

this was my first stop this tour. not the best 1st set but they brought it in the 2nd. there were moments when i felt that bobby had weaseled his way into some of john's parts and failed to remember it was his turn to sing. just let john do what he's good at, bob.

hoping for an even better show friday at CMAC.

First, do not listen to waxxman, he clearly was too busy judging the band and nit picking what he doesn't understand. The band was clearly having fun and fully enjoying the venue. Rain started to fall and developed into a downpour as the band wove their way through "music" entered "shakey ground" and then back to "music". As the sun peaked out a rainbow appeared with the one end coming to the ground on the left side of the stage, it was unreal! The "foolish heart" and BTW were amazing along with "Dark Star, Terrapin, SOTM.The crescent moon hung in the sky for Ter/SOTM. The show was well worth being there, the circus was in full effect, the town and police were great and the locals got a eyeful! Great Recording, THANK YOU

im not rating the taping !,that is fine but the show itself was the worst of the 15 or so shows that i have seen of these guys , let J K sing i swear Bob cut him off so many times , and the dark star was a complete disaster !!! 23 minutes of just going nowhere noise couldnt even consider it a space jam !
